Christmas in The White House

Yesterday I saw a program in HGTV channel. The program was about christmas in The White House. They showed all the decorations that the first lady chose to decorate Christmas Day. Every room inside of The White House was decorated with different ornaments like garlands and stars. One of the main decorations in The White House is the Large Uncle Sam who was located on the main entrace of the house to receive the visitors. Another is The White House gingerbread decoration located in the State Room, the Blue Room Tree and Santa Claus. Every year in The White House the First Lady organize a big christmas party with special meals and deserts for all the visitors. The First Lady starts to prepare everything in March because decorate The White House is a difficult job.

International Cusine

International Cusine was one of my favorites courses that I took to learn to cook. I had an excellent teacher. He taught me to cook a lot of recipes. The recipes included one appetizer, the main plate and the desert. Also he gave me some tips for cooking delicious meals and deserts. This course was expensive because the ingredients that we used to cook were very expensive. International Cusine require to use different kinds of appliances to cook like big oven, special skillets, pots and pans, etc. I like to cook and I really enjoy when I do this.

Facebook

Facebook is a very famous webpage in internet. Register in facebook is very easy and free. A lot of people use this page to keep communication with their family and friends, especially if they live outside of their native countries. In this page you can put your pictures, you can have the list of all your contacts, receive messages, etc. In facebook you can find people who you didn't see for long time. Also you can meet new people like your friends's friends. There is a long list of many contacts for all over the world. Personally, I don't like facebook because I think it is not very private. But I know a lot of people who like this webpage and they can't live without it.

Christmas

Christmas is celebrated every year in many countries. December 24 and December 31 are the more special days of the month. Christmas symbols are christmas tree and the nativity. People use to decorate their houses with many christmas ornaments like Santa Claus, Snowmen, Reindeer, etc. Also, people use to put the gifts under the tree. The gifts are given to the children after the baby Jesus born. On Dec 24 and Dec 31 people use to prepare a big dinner for all the family. After 12 o'clock people go out to enjoy the rest of the night. Additionally, people on these days wear new clothes like a complement of the celebrations. I love Christmas and I can wait for these days. Happy Christmas and New Year.

Nativity

The nativity is a christian tradition. Every year people built a new nativity. People use to pray every night in front of the nativity. This tradition start in December 16 to December 24. The nativity represent the birth of Jesus Christ. The nativity is formed by Mary, Joseph, the three wise men, the angel David, and the animals like sheep, donkey, cow, etc. People use to sing and play instruments at the end of each ceremony and offer food to the participants and children.
The last day of the ceremony December 24 people use to offer a big dinner and give thanks to God for the last year and the new year. People use to put Jesus baby at 12 o'clock in the nativity. This a pretty day to share with family and friends. I love christmas day.

Sushi

Sushi was originated in Japan. Sushi is one of my favorites meals. I like to eat sushi specially when the fish is fresh. There are a lot of kinds of sushi. The most common is sushi served rolled inside of alga. Sushi is always served with rice. The sushi can serve in a rice roll and in the center of this, the sushi chef put a little pieces of seafood like salmon, tuna, avocado, crab,etc. Also the sushi can serve in different form, the sushi chef can serve the fish on top of the rice. Sometimes the sushi chef put on top of the rice sesame seeds. The sushi is served with ginger, soy sauce and wasabi. I enjoy when I go to eat sushi.

The Wizard of Oz

Today I finished to read the book called The Wizard of Oz. I remember watched the movie when I was child, but I never read the book before. This book is really good for me, because I don't like to read a lot. This book is make for children, that's means easy to read. The letter's book is enough big to read and the book has some pictures to keep the attention of the reader. I liked a lot to read this book and I am very happy because I understand the story. I don't understood the meaning of all the worlds, but I got the idea of the story. I want to continue reading books like this. I think that it is a good progress for me.

Plastic Surgery

Nowadays, plastic surgery is very popular in the world. Years ago it was using to fix problems of deformation in the human bodies. On these days plastic surgery is using to fix problems of people's vanity and deformation in the human bodies. Women are very worried for their appearances and they want to use quickly treatments with quickly results that help their to fix their problems in their bodies or faces. They know that plastic surgery can fix all these problems in a short time. Also with the surgery they can change their bodies or faces to look more youngest and attractives. I think if a woman really needs to use this kind of surgery, it is correct to use it, but it is only for vanity, I think she should accepts her appearances who it is.

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

Rockefeller Center is located in midtown Manhattan. Every year, on December 3 they put a new christmas tree. It is located in the center's plaza near the skating ring. This tree has 72 foot and 40 feet round. The tree was decorated with 30.000 lights and a crystal start. The tree was donated for a family of New Jersey. Rockefeller Center for this time has been visiting for a lot of tourist who can to see the christmas tree. Also people can skating in the center's plaza with this wonderfull view of the tree. On the ceremony day, they have a lot of entertainers to enjoy the people who can to see the tree. I love christmas tree and I like smell them. Christmas tree and all the decorations bring happiness to my life.

Black Friday

Black Friday is celebrated every year in November 28 after thanksgiving day. This day is very important for American people because it is a big holiday. On this day we can find the best deales in purchases. A lot of stores have amazings sales almost in all the products. We can find wonderfull prices with 50% off, buy one and get the other free, etc. People this day like to buy appliances for their homes because the prices on these products are really good. Also people take advantage of this day to buy christmas stuff or gifts for their family and friends. Aditionally, this is a commercial day because the stores make a lot of money and get a big profit. So don't forgett to save money for the next black friday. Good look.

Extreme Homes

I saw a program two days ago in HGTV Channel, this program was about extreme homes. They gave this name bacause the homes were very different to the normal homes. One of this houses many years ago was a rocket base. On the same land, the new owner of the land decided to built a house. The house was built in two parts above ground and underground. This house looked like a chalette of one floor and two cars garage. Underground the house had three floors, didn't have any windows, was very luxury and big. The house keeped the same temperture all the time whatever it is cool or hot outside. The house was built in wood above ground and in concrete underground. The electricity and water worked the same at others houses.
I think this program is very interesting and I like. But I'm not sure if I like to have a house similar like that.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day is celebrated every year in November 27. On this day a lot of people get together to celebrate with family and friends. People pray and give thanks to God for all the blessings received. On this day is very popular to have a big dinner. The special plate is turkey but people prepare different kinds of food. Also on this day Macys celebrates a big parade in Manhattan. This parade is very famous and a lot of people come to see it every year. I hope to go next year to see the parade.

A Blind Story

I saw a program today called 60 minutes on channel two. The program was about blind people. The host of the program was a woman. She showed the story of a young man who was born blind. When he was three years old he started to play the piano. His mother descovered that he had abilities to play instruments especially the piano. With the time, his parents hired teachers to teach him how to play the piano. The teachers said he was very talented, and he learned very fast. Also when he was forteen years old he started to learn to read and write. Now he continue to learn this profession and offer concerts. He enjoy every of his life. It is amazing to see people who don't have complete all their senses can do wonderfull things, and appreciate more their lives than people how have everything.

Coffee

The coffee is one of more pleasant beverages in the world. Production and comercialization of coffee are a big global industry. Colombia and Brazil are the biggest producer of coffee in South America. Nowadays we can find a lot of beverages make with coffee as cappuccino, expresso, ice coffe, etc. Also we can find cakes make with coffee. Coffee comes in many presentations as coffee beans and powder coffee. Additionally, we can get instant coffee. People use to take coffee with milk or cream. I like coffee but I don't drink so much coffee. Sometimes I drink coffee when I don't want to sleep or when is cool weather.

Drogs and Alcohol

Life is very difficult. People have a lot of different kinds of problems, which causes stress and depression. These are two reasons people abuse drogs and alcohol. People don't know how control their problems and they start to use these products frequently without any control. Pleople forget the use of these products in excess can cause the death. The use of these products are more frequent in teenagers. They don't have control of this situation and they get in accident easier. I think schools should educate our children about the use of these products. Also parents should take this topic wiht more responsability and avoid to drink alcohol and smoking in front of their children.

Poverty

Around the world we can find a lot of poverty. Poverty is a very common problem. For many years this problem has been a big global issue. Africa is one of the continents who have more poverty. The life's conditions are very difficult to people that live in this situation. It is very hard to see how people can live like that. These people don't have anything to eat, don't have place to sleep and many of them don't have family. They live in a extreme poverty and many of them live in the streets. I think goverments should take this topic with more responsibility and find ways to eliminate this problem.

Television

The Television was created as informative media and entertainment. There are a lot of programs to wasch in television everyday. Programs such as movies, shows, sports, news, videos, etc. For me it is very important wasching TV at list two hours everyday. I love it. Also I like to have a big TV to wasch movies. I write about that because just righ now I don't have television. I canceled the cable, so I am very bored. I don't know what happend but I should have the normal chanels because before I got the cable I had it. I guess the people from cable vision disconnected my other antenna. Tomorrow I am going to try fixing this problem. Also I need the television to sleep. It helps me when I go to the bed and let down.

Music

I saw my husband's cousin played the batery. It was amazing. I think play instruments, sing and dance are like a kind of art. If you want to do this you have to have passion. Not only passion, you need study this profession because it is not easy. Learning to play instruments need time and dedication. Also the sound and the voice are very important. You need developed all your senses especially the ears. In my opnion I like to see somebody plays the gitar and the piano. I like to see when somebody plays and sings old music like a trio. However I don't like rock music or when people play the instruments for this kind of music. There are a lot of things to learn about this art or profession to understand the real means of the music.

Traveling

Traveling is the best pleasure of the life. People can travel by air, by sea, by train and by car. Most people enjoy traveling. However a lot of people have many motives to travel such as business travel, vacations, honey moon, etc. In many occsasions traveling is an opportunity to be with family and with friends. Also people travel when they have special occasions like a honey moon, birthdays, marriage, etc. There is many reasons to travel. There a lot of places to travel around the world and a lot of beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers, volcanes, etc to visit. Also we can travel in each season. I enjoy when I travel and I want to travel all my life.

Chocolates

Chocolates are very popular in the world. They are mading with cocoa. People from all over the world like to eat chocolate and to drink hot chocolate. We can find many clasess of chocolate such as black and white chocolate. People add inside the chocolate sweet, nuts, rice, etc. Also chocolates are using like a gift for special occasions such as birthdays, valentine's day, mother's day, etc. We can find chocolates with different figures like squard, circle, heart, etc. Additionally, chocolates give energy to our body. I don't like to eat a lot of chocolate, but I know a lot of people who like chocolate and they eat these almost every day.

Halloween Parade in Manhattan

This parade is very popular every year in Manhattan. People from all over the boroughs came to see it. The parade ran straight up 6 Ave. This started 7 o'clock at night. There are many sponsors who participant this day. I was there this friday, but I didn't see anything interesting. I was waiting for something exciting. The idea to go the parade is to see the costumes, their are the main attraction. I didn't enjoy the parade. I think the problem was that we was walking in the parade. I prefer get a place to see the parade because I can see all the different costumes. When I was walking I saw some costumes but I didn't see a lot of of them. Another problem was we went there late. That's not good because we lost everything. Also there are a lot of people. I was very hot. After that we went to a night club. At the end we came back home very late because the train took long time to leave and the train was very full. I don't know if I want to come back to see the parade again.

Swimming

Swimming is a very popular sport. Many people practice this sport because it is very healthy for the body. When we swim all the muscles of our bodies work together. Also, swimming helps our body with breating. There are many styles of swimming. For example backstroke, freestyle, breast stroke and butterfly. I remember practice this sport when I was a child. I learned all the styles, but now I use only freestyle because I forget the others. I would like to practice this sport again because I know it is going to help me with my back pain.

Heliconias

Heliconias are my favorite plants. They rise from clumps of banana like leaves. These plants grow in a tropical wheater. They have large stems, long leaves and bracts. Also their colorfull bracts can be erect, pendulous or spiraling. These plants need enough water and shadow. Something depend of the variety they need more lightsun. We can find more of 500 hundred species of heliconias in South America. One of the most popular species is Rostrata. Her colors are red, yellow and a little green. When I was in Colombia I planted 500 hundred rhizomes. I planted five different species. This plant can be alive until 15 days. That is amazing. I love these plants so much.

Home Depot Expo

Hi everybody, yesterday I went to Home Depot Expo to get ideas for my home. I started looking the tile for the bathroom. I like big square tile for the wall in the shower and I like ceramic tile for the floor. Also I was looking for the sink and the bathtub for the bathroom. I would like to have a jacuzzi bathtub in the bathroom, but it is very expensive. After this I went to the kitchen session. I know what kind the cabinet I want for the kitchen. I want hard wood cabinets and cherry color. Now I need to find the right countertop. I want granite countertop. The granite I saw yesterday is very expensive, but the color is perfect with the cabinets. I'm not sure with the tile for the kitchen. I have to keep looking for this. In addition, I have to look for the color in the walls. I have some ideas, but I'm not sure. Later I'm going to tell you.

Fashion

Today I want to talk about fashion. I love fashion and I think all women in the world like fashion. When you talk about fashion you talk about colors, styles, designs, fabrics, etc. All these elements together create fashion. Also, fashion is not only clothes. It is a combination of clothes, shoes, hats, gloves, bags and jewelry. All them compliment fashion. In addition, fashion changes every season. The designers create new collections for each season. The seasons inspire the designers to make new clothes for each occasion. The occasion can be formal and casual. I hope fashion for this winter will be innovative.

Celular Phones

The Celular Phone is a very popular machine in the world. All social clases use this machine. It is incredible how this simple machine is more important than a person. People can't live without them. Celulars are very convenient because we can use them all over the world. However not all the companies offer good signal to use the cell phones in other countries. In many cases we have to pay more money to get a good signal outside of our native country. This is called rommie. We can get celulars of all the styles, sizes, colors, etc. Also nowadays the new tecnology combine Ipod with cell phone this is called Iphone. This tecnology permit listening music, wasching movies, use internet, GPS, etc. This is amazing to see how people invent day by day new machines. Machines soon are going to control men.

My First Mortgage

Uhhhh Today I received the first monthly payment of my home. It is incredible. I didn't move yet but I have to pay. The mortgage is determined by many factors. One of them is the quantity of money that you borrow from the bank. If you borrow a lot of money your monthly payment is high. Another factor is the quantity of down payment that you put for firs time in the house. This is very important because if you put more down payment your monthly payment is less. Also, if you have good credit you can get good interest rate. If the interest rate is low your montlhy payment is less too. Closing costs are important. If you can't pay them at the beginning you have to pay later every month. The bank includes them in the monthly statement, so that means the montlhy payment is more. We have to take care of all these things. If the monthly payment is very high, it is possible we can't afford to pay the mortgage and we can lose the house.

Wine

Wine is a kind of alcoholic beverage. This beverage is produced by the fermentation of grape juice. A good fermentation of wine give us a good flavor. That why the age of the wine is very important because with the years the flavor become more concentrated. In addition, the age of the wine determinate the price of it. The grape is important too, because this gives the color, smell and texture to produce the wine. If we want to buy a good wine is neccesary to know something about it. Nowadays there is something called wine tasting. This is like a kind of profession where the wine is examinated and evaluated to know the quantity of sugar after the fermentation, and the quantity of chemical compounds. This is an interested topic. I would like to learn more about this to recognize when is a good or bad wine.

Halloween

Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31. On this day girls, boys and adults wear different costumes. On this day we can find a lot of activities to do, for example children and their parents go out . They pick up some candies in different houses around their neigborhood. Also, the schools celebrate this day. They have a small party and all the children have to wear costumes. For adults it is a party night because they celebrate halloween in houses, night clubs, etc. I'm very excited because this year I'm goin to wear my costume. My costume is the same as the other years. I call it the punisher. I want to go to Manhattan to see the parade. Here is a picture of my husband and I.

Sex

Long time ago our parents didn't talk about sex becouse it was considered a sin. Nowadays many things are changing little by little. Our parents start talking about sex with us frecuently because the society is very corrupt and the young people are very irresponsible. For example, a common case is when the girls of fourteen years old get pregnant. This is really sad. This happens becouse the parents and the schools don't provide enough information about methods to prevent pregnancy. Also not only the girls have to take care about this. The boys have to take care too becouse they have the same responsibility that the girls. Additionally, sex is not only pregnancy. Unprotected sex can lead to venereal diseases. This is very dangerous and in many cases these illness don't have cure. I hope everybody in the world takes the sex very serious.

Credit

The credit is one of the biggest word in the US. Without credit we can't do anything in this country. If we want to buy a house, a car, get a student loan, credit cards, etc we need to have credit. The banks need a credit history where they can see if you pay all your expenses on time. When you are going to buy a house, the bank checks your credit to know what is your credit score. If your credit score is between 750 to 850 you have excellent credit. When you have a high score or fico score you can get a better interest rate and your monthy payment is less. A good way to have a good credit is always paying everything on time. Don't forget to pay your next bill.

Feria of Cali

This event is celebrated each year from 25 to 30 of December. This event is very famous for the bullfight and the presentation of international and national orchestras. People for all over the country came to Cali to enjoy the feria. This event is celebrated on the main streets of the city, night club, bars, houses, stadium, etc. The Feria has many events one of them is a big concert. It is celebrated in the Stadium Pascual Guerrero. In one night we can enjoy listening all the orchestras. Another event is the Parade of Horses or March of Horses. This event is very important becouse it opens the door of the Feria. In addition, the Feria offers a entertainment place call Las Tascas when we can eat different meals of different countries like Spain, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, etc.
Cali is the best place to visit in December. I'm very proud of my city and I love her.

Depression

In mi opinion this kind of illness is very serious and dangerous. It can affects children, adults and young people. when somebody is depressed can hurts herself or the other's lives. It happends for many reasons, people who suffer of this disease feel very emotional. They think that they are not important for anybody, they feel alone, sometimes it is hereditary or the most common case it is when the children come from separated parents. All these motives make people do bad or stupid things like smoke, drink alcohol, consume drugs, etc.
People who have this illness need a special treatment such as psychotherapy where they can talk about their problems. Also they can take medicines. It is very important remember that people who have these problems need love, protection and comprehension.

Go skiing

I remember my first time when I went skiing. I was very disappointed becouse I don't like cool wheater, but I did that becouse my husband likes to sky. To go skiing it is necessary to buy appropriate clothes and to buy or to rent the equipment to go skiing. Clothes, goggless, skis, gloves, sacks and scarfs are very expensive. Also in winter the logging is very expensive. One of the place to go skiing is Vermount. It has many places for logging, restaurants and bars. We were there for 4 days and it was amazing. The view of the mountains is incredible becouse everything is white. This is a new experience for me and I like it. I would like to repeat this experience this winter.

Tips

I don't know if this happens with many people, but I don't like to give tips when I go to restaurants, hair salons or nail salons. In the USA it is very popular because people who work in these kind of jobs don't have a regular salary or the owners of these places pay a little money per hour. I understand this situation, but I do not agree because I think the tips should be voluntary. In this country it is almost an obligation. These kinds of businesses offer a service to the customers. The owner of these places should pay a regular salary to their employees more tips if the customers want. Sometimes many people who work in these places prefer to receive only tips because they make more money with tips. Now when I go out, I try to change my mind and I try to think that these people need this money to live.

Tecnology

In my opinion the majority of the inventions in the world are working with advanced tecnology such as computers, games, cars, etc. Day by day these inventions become more sofisticated, for example hybrid use advanced tecnology to work. They work with an electrico system. When the car go fast their front wheels fuels the energy. When the car go slow the electrico system is turning on and the car start to consume less gasoline. This kind of tecnology is good becouse it helps us to save money and spend less money in gas. Especially in this market where the prices of gas are higher. I agree that the government expend money in tecnology if it is for our benefit.

Nature

Nature is the best gif that God gave to the man. Nature means everything such as water, earth, fire and air. The four main elements in the world. Also nature is life. Our lives need all this elements for living. Our bodies need water and nature provides the rivers, lakes and the sea. We need food to eat and the nature give us the lands to plant crops. We need air to brief and the nature give us the trees to keep the oxygen in the atmosphere. Nature provides resources for man to produce fire. Also the sun is another vital element that produce energy and hit to live.
I like nature. I enjoy walking in the feels and hills. I like to brief the pure aire. I like to take shower with natural water in rivers. I like to see wild animals, and I like to wake up in the morning and to see the sunlight. It is amazing.

Economic Crisis

The USA is going through a hard situation economic. People don't make enough income to pay the mortgage of their homes. Many banks are closing for this problem. The bank has to take the houses and tray to sell these for less price, but now, not many people want to buy a house. People who want to buy a house are investors becouse this is their business. The real state agencys are the most affected becouse their business is to sell houses. Also, for people who want to sell their houses is not convenient becouse the prices of the houses in the market are going down. This is a difficult situation especially for immigrants becouse right now many of them, they are losing their houses.

Junk Food

American people like to eat junk food. This food is very dangerous for the health. This kind of food contain many calories and fats. Fats can raise the cholesterol levels and cause heart attacks.
One of the reason, people eat this food is becouse they don't have time to cook. Another reason, is becouse we are influenced for bad publicity in the TV, radio, newspaper,etc. These showe us this kind of food. McDonalds, Wendys, Burger Kind, Taco Bell, etc have a lot of advertisement.
We need to stop of buying this food, and stop eating this food. I have to stop eating this food becouse I don't feel well when I eat that.

Today's Date

Today is one of those days where I want to leave everything and run. I am so tired today. I had a hard day. I finished work 15 minutes ago. I don't want to do anything. I'm hungry becouse I didnt have a good lunch today. I feel like I don't have life in this country. I am running all the time. Years ago I didn't know what was the meaning of the word stress today I feel stressed. My body and my mind is not working well. The only thing that I want right now is to see my parents. I miss them so much. I want to be that little girl and sleep in my parents arms.
Sometimes in life we make hard decisions such as leaving our family to take other ways. However, not all decisions are bad many of them help us to grow and appreciate life more. Today I don't feel well but I have my husband patience and support.

New York City

New York City is considered one of the most expensive places to live. The mayority of people want to life in this big apple. This city has many activities to do everyday. We can visit museums, art galeries, Broadway shows, restaurants, bars, clubs, go shopping in stores of famous designers, ect. Also it has an incredible briges and beautiful skylands. On forty second street we can see splendor of lights that illuminates the sky at night. People come from all over the world to visit this city. I think it is a very popular city. However, no everything is perfect in this city. The traffic is terrible. Is very difficult to find a parking space. The parking garage is very expensive. It's better to take the train and it is less expensive. There are a lot of pollution in the air and to much garbage on the streets. This is New York City, the city that never sleeps.

Wedding

I think the most important moment in the woman's life is when she gets married. To be married with somebody is a compromise for all the life. To be with our couple in good and bad situations. The woman has to take care of the children and the home. To be married is to have open communications with our husband and children. Also, the woman has to help and support her children in the decisions that they take when there are adults.To be married is really good when you are in love.

Gasoline Prices

Gasoline is a very popular word these days. Everybody is talking about this topic. Seven years ago the gasoline prices per gallon cost around $2.00 dollars, today the gasoline prices is around $4.00 or more. These prices are controlled by the biggest and strongest monopolies in the world who produce a lot of oil every year. Economically speaking, if people consume a lot of gas, the prices of it starts to grow because the gas is limited. That is the law of supply and demand in economics. This happens because people everyday buy new cars which consume a lot of gas. However, automobile companies are beginning to develop new technology to make gasoline consumption more efficient.

Changes

Hi
Tonight I want to write about changes, big changes that we have to do to save our world. We have to start in home. Our parents everytime are teaching us something diferent but now is time to teach our children how to take care of our world. The enviroment is very important for ourselfs, we need to stop to cut the trees and start to plant new trees. We have to stop to kill wild animals and created new laws to protect them of the hunters.
In home we can use product without chemicals, we can recycle our garbage, use less energy and water. Simple things like these can help our world and our children. Is time to start dont lose more time change now....

Summer and Winter Days

The days are beautiful in Summer. People like to go out and shared in family and friends. They like to do barbecues, drink some beers and play diferents games.
I like wake up early and see the sunlight. I like to wear light clothes and sandals. I absolutely love Summer time. On the other hand, I dont like cool whater, the days in Winter are long and dark. In Winter there are two things I like. I like wear boots, hats, scarfs and coats and I like go to ski. I dont like go out to much, I think I shoud enjoy more the Winter time.
